Welcome to Highbury High - Online
The Fanzine for Arsenal FC supporters...

March / April 98 - Issue 20

The big question when issue 21 hit the streets, was would we ever play outside of London again!  Four games against Chelsea; four against Palace; five against West Ham, and we even played against Wimbledon three times without ever being drawn against them in the Cup.  The revival continued despite a dissapointing exit against Chelsea in the Semi final of the Coco-cola Cup.   And even then, we only ourselves to blame when we completely outplayed them at Highbury but never finished off the job.

Up until now, questions were asked about some of Wenger's squad players.  Now they were starting to come into their own.  Grimandi won over his detractors and won the three points against Palace.  Manninger was starting to create a reputation for himself.  Anelka was starting to fight for the ball, but, unfortunately, the hapless Christopher Wreh, was still nowhere near as good as an Arsenal player should be.  Little did we know that he was about to prove us wrong at Wimbledon.

In issues 21, Simon Rose stands up for Gilles Grimandi, asking why we never give new players a chance.  Click here to read more....
