Species map 14. Cepero's groundhopper Sussex Orthoptera - Online Atlas

For ease of comparison with Haes and Harding (1997), records are shown as: pre-1970, 1970-1999 and as 2000 (onwards). The eventual aim is to update all maps as completely as possible with records for 2001 onwards, to show the status of Sussex orthopteroids in the first decade of the new millennium. Records shown for two boundary squares pertain to Kent.

1970-1999

2000 (onwards)

All Sussex records have been from the Rye district where the species occurs around ponds and gravel pits, sometimes in company with Slender groundhopper or Common groundhopper. Cepero's groundhopper occurs in similar habitat in Kent around Dungeness. It is easily overlooked and could occur elsewhere in Sussex. Nationally scarce and recorded mostly from localities near the south coast.
